BV_COM2:Access Violation:Address 0043F5F8

Hi

I've just started using BV_COM2, and while downloading a small (30 line) test program to a MX150 ByPic, I get the error

"Access violation at address 0043F5F8. Write of address 20202020."

BV_COM2 seems to be still working OK after I press OK in the error dialogue box, but if I try and download again, I get the same error.

Menu File | Exit doesn't work, and the only way of restarting BV_COM2 is to kill the process using Task Manager.or click the X in the top RHS corner.

When I restart BV_COM2, and click the Text File Transfer button, the dialogue box comes up but BV_COM2 has forgotten what I had entered into the lower drop-down box, ie 'cold \n\w299 tload \n\w300'. After restarting BV_COM2, I can then successfully download the program.

I am running Windows 7 x64 Ultimate with 8 GBytes of RAM

Has anybody else experienced these kinds of problems ?

Thanks

Peter

Peter,
BV_COM2 is not perfect but the error:
"Access violation at address 0043F5F8. Write of address 20202020."
is due to a code error, usually a misplaced bracket that interacts badly with BV_COM2, I am looking at a fix for this.

The Error reporting for the ByPic is limited due to the space restrictions on the IC, particularly the MX1 and so it is a trade off between better error reporting and much less user space.

Hi Jim

OK, I just restart everything, and continue, that works.

I think I'm beginning to get into the spirit of ByPic :)
