BV4618 20x4 lines 3 & 4 not working

I have a BV4618 connected to a 20x4 display but cannot access lines 3 and 4 I just get strange results is there something wrong with the controller?

The default for the BV4618 display controller is 16x2 so you need to issue the appropriate commands to set the number of lines and characters at start up. Thus
esc[4L
esc[20c

Hi,
I use BV4619 and 20x4 display LCD.

For go to line 1,2,3 or 4, i use DDRAM instruction and use adress below :
line 1 : 0x80
line 2 : 0xC0
line 3 : 0x94
line 4 : 0xD4

BV4618
3 serial interfaces, includes RS232 12V levels
Works like a VT100 display
Only one device per serial bus
One back light out put on or off

BV4619
2 serial interfaces no 12V levels
Direct LCD commands, simpler user takes care of scrolling
Addressable protocol, many devices on one serial bus
3 back light outputs, PWM dimmable
