BP1 kit via FTDI 5v basic board , (its the 2nd you sent me this week ) TX to RX RX to TX 5V supply from FTDI basic Grnd DTR to DTR brushed a wire from V and Grnd to DTR as a reset all joints are sound C1 and C5 polarity's correct TX to TX and RX to RX tried CTS not connected minimax board works ok no problemsby knuckles - ByPic

coolterm shows the TX led lighting but RX shows nothingby knuckles - ByPic

i went thru that list but still no welcom screen ,i tried the wire between DTR and grnd but no dice just some garbage on screen ,how essential is that reset circuit with push button ?thats next to try although the micro board was ok without a reset circuit ,that went well on bootupby knuckles - ByPic

bvserial and cooolterm tells me i am connected by serial port 1 but i dont get a bypic welcome screen ,all settings are okby knuckles - ByPic

F4 does not work when trying to get program to move accross ,is there another way to do this . microsoft wifi board not responding to F4by knuckles - ByPic

ok Jim i posted it off to you with some stamps to send it back etc. i have been over the soldered joints with a magnyfier but nothing looks so bad as to warrent it being dud and dead, but no doubt you will solve it quickly ,power light comes on and voltages look ok. i tried several FTDI devices and com ports looked ok ,sparkfun devices are reliable i reckonby knuckles - ByPic

am i right in saying that the BP1 should show a welcome screen right from the go ? without me loading anything at all ? this was a diy kitby knuckles - ByPic

i got the mini max working ok, it was a dodgy connection on DTR for some reason ,welcome back rookie ,now for the other board . some days things just never go right ...duhby knuckles - ByPic

yes i know what your saying but i havent update the FTDI software and the sparkfun should work ok i cant see them using snide chips .i have no reason to think theyre brickedby knuckles - ByPic

i have a minimax and a BP1 and a selection of USB devices ,they used to work and had rookie running but now i cant get even the welcome screen .i have been thru the list of possible problems to no avail .the sparkfun basic FTDI used to work good with the minimax but now wont at all .i ran out of ideasby knuckles - ByPic

i have loaded on the flash10 and got it running ok . then i modify to flash portB 0 and save it and load it on . but i cant get the led to flash on port B 0 pin it stays flashing on portA 0 do i have to erase the first prog and then load it on ? and how do i do this ? presumably when i do go flash its running the first progby knuckles - ByPic
